The total price of this trip is $4550 per person. At this time we only need a $500 deposit to hold your spot on this very popular ride.  

You can read here to see what this covers (most stuff) and a few things it doesn't. (If you stop at a bakery and eat 117 eclairs, you are on your own!)

Not to worry -- you have 14 days from the time you register to cancel without penalty. You get back that entire $500.

HOTEL PREFERENCES

The price of the ride is based on two people per hotel room.  Please list below the name of the person who will be your roommate.  

If you want a private room each night just for yourself it costs $675 extra for the entire trip.  Just write, "Private Room" in the space below.  (We don't earn anything from that private room fee -- we just give that money to the hotels.)

If you want us to find a roommate of the same gender as you, we're happy to help. Please enter Find Me a Roommate in the space below. We've had quite a few requests from both men and women looking for roommates, so join us! 

If it turns out that we can't find you a roommate in a sane amount of time you can pay $675 extra to have a room of your own, or if you prefer we will cancel your registration and refund ALL of your money -- it's YOUR choice.

If you are sharing a room with another person, you have a choice (below) of one bed or two beds.

If you are taking a hotel room for yourself, the room will have one king or queen bed.

GETTING YOUR BIKE TO AND FROM THE RIDE

We offer free transportation for your bike to Montreal, and from the end of the ride back. No disassembly, no packing. and we can take your luggage too! The bike pick-up locations are in:

Brooklyn

Elizabeth, NJ

Manhattan

Monticello, NY (Catskills)

Paramus, NJ

Saratoga Springs, NY

Tarrytown, NY (near Westchester)

If that doesn't work for you let us know and we'll help you with packing and shipping -- not a problem.

SO... how do you THINK you're transporting your bike? We understand that things can change, but this gives us a rough idea so we can best plan for you.

YOUR BIKE RIDING STYLE

Each day the ride is about 27 - 42 miles.

If you prefer you can do about half that distance.

What's your preference? 

You are NOT bound by this answer -- you can change your mind anytime you want, even on ride day, without notifying us in advance.

We're asking here just so we can ESTIMATE how many people to expect where and when.

Note that T-shirts are all men's sizes. (Years back we thought we were really cool and ordered separate men's and women's shirts. The only problem is that our female cyclists hated the cut of the women's shirt, so...)

Non-Pedaling Friends, Spouses, Siblings, Sweeties...

We often hear from wonderful cyclists who say, "My companion does not pedal but they want to come along anyway -- is that OK?"

Sure!

We think they'll enjoy the great meals and snacks, the nice people, the scenery...

Some non-cyclists rent their own car out of Montreal for the trip; others catch a ride with us each day to the next town. 

We are happy to transport folks in our vehicles, and we'll get them to the next city on the itinerary as fast as we can, but please understand that our core duty is to the bicyclists  -- passengers may be delayed just a bit while we tend to our cycling chores.

Please note that non-cyclists pay the same price as people riding bikes. 

Yes, even if they're "just coming along for one dinner." 

We DO hear from people on the trip who say, "I'm not going to dinner with you guys tonight -- my friend is in town and we're going somewhere else to eat.  See you in the morning."  That works for us!

OPTIONAL: Our Van Trip to Canada and Back

We meet up in Montreal for this adventure -- how are you getting there -- Flying? Driving? Train? All the details here.

On our end we need to rent a van in Manhattan and take it with us on the entire trip so we can shuttle people as needed in Canada.

That means that this van is empty going to and from Montreal -- why not come with!  We have a very few seats available -- the rest are taken up by our friendly crew (who need to get to Canada too!)

Depart Manhattan Saturday morning May 28th about 7 a.m.; back in Manhattan at ABOUT 8 p.m. on June 4th.  (We will leave and return from W. 46th Street and 10th Avenue. Much as we love you, we can NOT swing by your apartment to pick you up.

Of course we'll make plenty of stops along the way for bathroom breaks, snacks, and probably a diner meal. Feel free to bring your own lunch and snacks along if you prefer.

Your bike and luggage travel separately in our large truck. 

Price: $140 per person round trip. That does not include food or snacks, which you pay for.

Travel Time: About 6 hours/15 minutes each way plus additional time for bathroom breaks and snack stops.

This is a 15-passenger van, but to keep it comfortable we never like to put more than 11 people in (10 guests plus the driver).

If you select this option you will be billed for it now. Just like your deposit, it is 100% refundable within 14 days.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Need to Cancel Right Away?

You have 14 days from the time you register to cancel without penalty. You get back that entire $500 deposit.

TRIP INSURANCE

Trip insurance is available from Travel Guard, and covers you if you can't make the trip, or get sick in the middle of the event.  You can read all about it and get a free quote here.  No sales call; no hard sell.

The insurance costs about 10% - 15% of the price of the trip, depending on which options you pick.

If you decide to buy trip insurance we recommend that you sign up for the trip first, BEFORE you buy coverage. (It's just easier that way). Trip insurance questions? Happy to assist -- just contact us.

PAYMENTS

At the end of this online registration you'll be charged a $500 deposit on your credit card. (If you signed up for a private room that fee is here too.)

We'll send you an invoice for the balance due.  

Discount!  We welcome payments by credit card for your balance. If you pay your entire balance by check, Zelle, or Venmo -- all at once or in several payments -- we will subtract $100 per person from your bill. Your choice.

Getting In and Out of Canada

If you are an American citizen you will need documentation to get into Canada and on the return trip to get back into the U.S.

Acceptable Documents

• Passport

• A REAL I.D. driver's license or I.D. card.

NOT Acceptable Documents

• Any expired passports or I.D.s

• A regular driver's license or I.D. card (one that is not a REAL I.D. version ).

• Your Costco membership card. (Yes, people have been trying! "But my photo is on it!")

We love our guests, but if you show up at the border with the wrong documentation there is nothing we can do -- the trip will go on! No refunds.

READ THIS CAREFULLY!

We need at least 16 people signed up to make this trip work. If we have fewer than 16 I lose a lot of money, and once when I wasn't paying attention my accountant said something about losing money being very bad.

Reservations usually come in apace, but If we get to April 29, 2027 and we haven't sold enough slots, we'll cancel the trip, notify you, and IMMEDIATELY refund 100% of what you've paid.  Your cost is zero.

All this a long-winded way to say that if you are one of the first to sign-up we appreciate it, but I wouldn't dash out and purchase trip cancellation insurance or book a non-refundable airfare just yet until we confirm with you on April 29, 2027 or earlier.
